KJR Print and Design

I’m KJR and I’m a fine art illustrator and printmaker living and working on the gorgeous south coast of Dorset. My works often flow between the sublimely fantastical through a gothic darkness and to beautiful words, sometimes all three!

I’m a traditional artist and illustrator so my process from design to print is a lengthy one but worth the many hours of work. This process starts with roughing out the design to the final pencilled (and sometimes inked) piece to transposing on to the prepped Lino, through the often long cutting stage (I do love detail!) and finally to rolling up the ink and getting the image onto paper. Each stage is undertaken with love, care and a bit of swearing resulting in your unique print. And by the very nature of linocut printing, variations will occur but this isn’t a flaw or a defect (we don’t like those words around here) rather a mark of the originality in this amazing medium.

It proves that no two pieces will be exactly the same and will vary slightly, making your print ever more exclusive. KJR Print & Design is a plastic free company and uses vegetable starch cello wrapping.
